The Inheritance Value of Lisu Knife and Pole Festival
Knife-pole Festival is the product of Yi people's natural worship, and it is also the embodiment of Yi people's patriotic spirit and fearless national spirit. During the festival, the content of the original belief was replaced by healthy and novel lyrics and rich hand dance movements, which had a wider mass. This ancient and peculiar knife and pole festival has been officially designated as a traditional sports activity of the Yi people by the relevant departments.
The state attaches great importance to the protection of intangible cultural heritage. On May 20th, 2006, this folk custom was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
