There are so many hooks for table fishing, it's dizzying to choose, can you teach me how to choose?

Fish hooks are also a big single item that needs to be researched for table fishing.

Currently there are two types of hooks.

Barbless hooks

Suitable for commercial baits, and it is easy for the fish to eat the hook and quick to remove it. However, because of the lack of barbs, if the fish control is not appropriate, it is easy to cause the fish to run away. It is suitable for black hole competition or fishing for small fish.

Barbed hook

With barbs, it is suitable for hanging earthworms, breadworms and other live bait. It is hard to come off as long as the fish is hooked. However, it is relatively difficult to penetrate into the flesh of the fish, and it is slow to remove the hook, which is suitable for wild fishing or fishing for big fish.

In addition to barbed and barbless, there are also the following types of hooks based on their shape.

New Kanto

Originated in the Kanto region of Japan, it has a thick hook bar, wide hook gate, long shank, straight hook and no barbs, and is suitable for fishing for big fish in black pits.

My favorite hook to use when I play with my friends in black pit competition, especially Luo Fei pit, its barbless design allows me to unhook the fish quickly, and the straight hook can pierce the fish's mouth very well. It is simply a great killer inside the black pit.

Sleeve Hook

The hook is thin, the hook gate is narrow, the shank is long, the hook point is straight, and there are two kinds of barbed and barbless, which is suitable for the small body of the white stripe, the horse's mouth, the crucian carp and so on. It is a hook shape often used in wild fishing.

In the case of wild fishing without mouth, sleeve hook is my confidence hook, its shape is generally very small, can easily be eaten by fish with small mouth, but the disadvantage is also because of the relatively small, so sometimes encountered with big fish, it will be cut hook.

Iseni

The hook has a thick bar, a wide gate, a short shank, and an eagle's beak-like point, and is also available in both barbed and barbless options, making it suitable for fishing for large-sized fish such as carp, grass carp, and bigheads. Personally, I really like to use it when fishing for carp.

I generally like to use it for bottom fishing for carp, which struggles a lot, and this hawsebill shaped hook can penetrate into the carp's mouth very well, making it difficult for it to break free.

Izu

The Izu has a medium hook, a narrow barb, a long shank, a staggered point (often called a crookbill) and a barbed barb, which makes it suitable for some slippery fish, and it is easy to penetrate into the flesh of the fish.

Izu is very suitable for some slippery mouth fish, these fish will be very cautious when eating bait, this kind of crooked-beak hooks can be very good for this kind of fish lessons, and can pierce the fish's mouth in one go.

Koiso

This hook is a bit similar in shape to the Iseini. But the profile will be thicker and bigger with barbs for oversized carp or grass carp.

My favorite hook for sea fishing is this hook, it is very strong, other hooks are not strong enough and the hook gate will be pulled apart or even broken, so far I have used hooks, only the small iso does not have such a situation.

The above are the common types of hooks, besides the types of hooks, there are also different colors of hooks.

Silver: the most basic hook color, it kind of looks like a super small minnow underwater.

Black: hides well underwater and is usually plated to be more resistant to corrosion.

Red: looks like a small earthworm underwater and is more attractive to carnivorous fish.

Golden: Reflections are especially clear on a sunny day, and have a certain ability to attract fish.

Other colors are generally more fancy and less common. They will not be analyzed here.

Different hook sizes correspond to different fish, here I made a table, you can use it as a reference.

Combined with the actual situation and the fish you want to catch, so you can easily choose your appropriate hooks.
