National vocal music is a treasure of the Chinese nation and one of the important intangible cultural heritages. This paper discusses two effective ways to improve the emotional expression of national vocal music art, namely, studying performance works in depth and expressing emotions with the help of opera performances. Paper Keywords National Vocal Music; Emotional expression National vocal music is a treasure of the Chinese nation and one of the important intangible cultural heritages. The development history of national vocal music can be traced back to ancient times. Up to now, it has experienced three stages of development [1]: 1) Enlightenment-from ancient times to Sui and Tang Dynasties; 2) Development period-Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties; 3) Maturity —— From the Republic of China to modern times, Chinese and western singing methods were integrated, forming a more systematic singing method. After long-term development, national vocal music has formed its own unique style and charm, including the aesthetic characteristics and standards of national vocal music, theoretical skills of singing, emotional expression of singing and so on. Jin, a famous professor of China Conservatory of Music, once summarized vocal music art into seven words: "sound, emotion, character, taste, expression, cultivation and image" [2]. It is very important for the further development of China national vocal music to sort out these problems in an orderly way. Vocal music art is the art of expressing thoughts and feelings through beautiful melody and melodious timbre of singers, especially national vocal music. For thousands of years, many people have studied the relationship between sound and emotion. For example, in Huai Nan Zi written by Liu An in the Han Dynasty, it is recorded: "Han E, Xue Tan are angry with their ambitions, and they are full of voices." [3] "Yue Ji" also records: "Every sound starts from the heart. When people move, things will be logical. " "Every voice, the heart also. Emotion moves in the middle, so it is shaped by sound. " [4] This further shows that music is the art of emotional expression, and vocal art needs to be full of emotions, express feelings with sound, express feelings with sound, and require integration. So, how to express emotions correctly and appropriately through vocal music? I think there are two aspects to try: 1. In-depth study of performance works. Kaisali, a famous vocal theorist, once said: "If a singer puts enough time and thoughts into analyzing his songs and gives full play to his imagination ... he will develop a keen function in time, so that he can enter a psychological state somewhat similar to that of a writer when creating specific works." [5] Familiarity, understanding and real understanding of works are important prerequisites for interpreting national songs. First of all, singers should be familiar with and carefully study their works. Because the industry has been misled by the concept of "vocal music technology first" for a long time, many singers have focused on blindly pursuing vocal music skills and focusing only on voice practice, ignoring the basis of "vocal music". It often leads to irregular articulation and inaccurate music when singing, which seriously distorts the true face of the work and its artistic value plummets. [6] This also leads to many singers' affectation when singing, and they can't get their due performance in eyes and body. They have no real feelings when singing, let alone express the connotation of their works delicately, and will not impress the audience. Lyrics are an important basis and way to express the emotional connotation of songs. "Language is the direct embodiment of thoughts, various expressions of people, events and scenes, various changes of lyricism, narration and chanting, various expressions of emotions and so on. It is the result of language expression. " [7] Therefore, it is necessary for singers to be familiar with the specific content of lyrics and deepen their understanding and feelings. Only when we have a deep understanding of the lyrics can we properly interpret the emotional connotation of national vocal music art and truly express the emotion of vocal music art, for example, the initial element of Yunnan folk song "Running on a River" is the folk tune of young women missing their distant lovers. Show young women's persistent pursuit of love. The lyrics of this song are colloquial, which is the common feature of folk songs. The differences of spoken English in different places also show the environment and connotation of spoken English. "The moon shines on the world" is a very colloquial language in the south, and the same sentence is very common in the spoken language in the south, especially in Yunnan. It not only faithfully records the natural environment of folk songs, but also becomes a special mode to strengthen emotional expression. At the same time, it has achieved the special charm of the artistic expression of "small river dripping water". Second, you must be familiar with the melody changes of the works. Music is the art of hearing, the expression of beauty, and melody is the soul of music works. Music works make people feel artistic conception and emotion through melody, and expand imagination through the noumenon of melody, rhythm and strength. Melody is the lyric basis of words in songs, and it is the deepening and development of words. Therefore, the singer needs to pay attention to the importance of the melody of the song, deeply understand the ups and downs of the melody, pay attention to every structure and detail of the score, comprehensively grasp the style and characteristics of the work from the macro perspective, understand every change from the micro perspective, and ponder and study it repeatedly, so as to truly understand the emotional changes of the work and stimulate the true feelings inside. Only by touching yourself first can you touch others. "National vocal music works are very lyrical and melodic, expressive and appealing, with distinctive personality characteristics and national style. Grasping the melody is an important means to reflect the emotion of the work. " [8] For example, Shaanxi folk song "Walking to the West" has a high-pitched and sad tune and sincere feelings, which shows that the poor working people in Shaanxi and Shanxi are forced by their livelihood, leaving their homes to make a living, and even have tragic scenes in the Spring and Autumn Period. The distinctive melody personality contains rich emotional expression and artistic tension. Third, deeply understand the work and design the role. The ideological connotation and role grasp of a singing work need to be deeply studied by the singer, and certain scene design and role design are needed according to the background, environment and characters of the work. Tea things, a folk song in Zhejiang Province, maintains the basic style of folk tea-picking songs and dances, and adopts the national five-tone style, with alternate materials. The melody is beautiful and smooth, and the melody is cheerful and jumping, which shows the happy mood of growing and picking tea. When singing, the singer can imagine himself in a tea garden, happily picking tea with many tea-picking girls and chatting happily. Funny phrases such as questions and answers in the song, like young people playing with each other, like old people praising the harvest, reproduce the youthful appearance of tea-picking girls. 2. Expressing emotions with the help of traditional Chinese opera performances "Emotions move in the middle and form in the outside, and proper body movements help to express emotions, which is necessary for singers." [9] Schumann, a famous musician, also said: "The art of expressing inner feelings without proper means is a small art." Wu Bixia, a teacher of China Conservatory of Music, once said, "My expression and body will unconsciously move with the feelings in my heart. I have sung the Russian art song The Nightingale many times. With the improvement of singing skills, in many public performances, I tried to show the dexterity and lightness of some coloratura nightingales with eye movements ... Generally speaking, it seems that foreign works don't advocate too much outward movement, but I received excellent results on the stage ... "[10] The famous conductor Canini also said," A music learner. No matter how brilliant a singer is, if he lacks emotional expression, he is not an artist, but an artist. Craftsmen are all over the street, but it is difficult for artists to find one among 100 people. " [1 1] It can be seen that performance is very important for the interpretation of songs. Opera performance is one of the foundations of singing performance. In addition to the voice, actors should accurately and vividly depict the appearance and charm of the characters, so as to convey the spirit in form. In China's traditional drama performances, the use of eyes has received great attention. Huang Zanzhuo, a famous artist in the Qing Dynasty, wrote in "The Pear Garden": "All realms must be led by eyes first", and further pointed out that only by using smart, shining and powerful "eyes" can different emotions hidden in the heart be externalized, thus giving birth to dry and magical facial expressions. [12] Action is equally important in singing performance. It is necessary to flexibly use all kinds of body language to highlight the character, thoughts and emotions of the characters, and to spend enough effort on the blending of connotation and representation to create vivid artistic images and unique artistic conception, improve the artistic appeal of performances and achieve perfect artistic effects. National vocal music is deeply influenced by national culture and life. Therefore, the more we pursue the authenticity and closeness of artistic performance, the more we attach importance to the role of performance. Proper eye expression can reflect the singer's emotions and thoughts, and with proper body movements, the whole national vocal performance can be full of emotions, gripping and deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. For example, the Sichuan folk song "The Sun Comes Out with Cheerfulness" has beautiful tunes and catchy lyrics. It is one of the outstanding folk songs of all ethnic groups in China. In the playful melody, it thanks the sun for bringing energy to mankind and sings that the sun has brought light to the world. When singing this song, the singer not only needs to have a high-pitched and passionate voice, but also needs to have eyes full of joy and hope, fully showing an optimistic outlook and a happy and festive atmosphere. In addition, singers should also make full use of singing skills such as articulation to express the connotation of music works and reflect the emotional characteristics of music works. Singing is an artistic activity with singing as the medium, various styles of themes as the content, and the purpose of conveying the thoughts and feelings of song writers and singers. Singers must try their best to mobilize all the artistic skills they can master and strive to achieve a high degree of unity of content and form of artistic works. Vocal singing will be eclipsed if it can't achieve formal perfection with the artist's skillful skills. Especially for national songs, the national singing method attaches great importance to the relationship between language and music, pays attention to dealing with vocalization, * * * * singing method and intonation according to the pronunciation law of singing language, and pays attention to the five tones, four tones, vocalization, rhyme and stop of words and sounds. National singing has a strong national temperament, personality and style in China. [13] Of course, singers should constantly strengthen their cultural and theoretical accomplishments, enrich their social experience and improve their stage experience. Only in this way, the content of their singing works can be combined with technology and artistry, and the sound and emotion can be truly combined to move people with sound, thus achieving good artistic effects.
