Da Shuhua Xiu's Performance Works

Hot molten iron bloomed on the city wall.

The main characters of the "Big Shuhua Show" performance are three artists wearing straw hats and sheepskin jackets. One is Zhong, and the other two are Wang, aged between 40 and 55. Their clothes are used to prevent burns. Behind him, on the wall nearly 10 meters high, you can see the rust, which was left before the big Shuhuaxiu. When hot molten iron was poured into the basin in front of the city wall, a master came on stage.

I saw the white spoon in my hand reaching into the molten iron, and the flame suddenly shot up. When he threw a spoonful of molten iron at the city wall, the pearl-sized red water droplets "wow" exploded into clusters of small umbrella-shaped golden sparks and scattered along the city wall in the distance, and the audience unanimously exclaimed.

For many people who see the Grand Shu Hua performance for the first time, their previous interest may be that its folk performances are incomparable with modern fireworks. I didn't expect it to be as spectacular or bright as powerful fireworks, except that it is not so rich in colors. In order to create a more enthusiastic scene, performers will pour several spoonfuls of molten iron one after another when the fireworks in front are still in full swing, so that sparks will come and go, giving people a unique visual feast.

"Big Shuhuaxiu" performers wear sheepskin jackets and sheepskin hats, and use special wooden spoons to pour molten iron on hard walls. 1000℃ molten iron hits the cold wall, splashing bright sparks, stringing into a crown, and then disappearing into the dark night. Performers will create a new round of sparks before the sparks dissipate, and the continuous sparks will form a golden "flower rain", which will bring warmth to people in the cold winter.

Da Shuhuaxiu is also a flower of wisdom.

I used to think that "Big Shuhua Show" was not difficult, so I just poured molten iron on the wall. After seeing the performance of "Da Shuhua Show" with my own eyes, I realized that "Da Shuhua Show" requires high arm strength and waving skills of performers, and performers need great courage, so not everyone can do "Da Shuhua Show". According to local people, there used to be many blacksmith workshops in Wenquan Town. During the New Year in China, blacksmiths invented today's "Great Shuhua Show" by using their usual experience of striking iron.

The preparation work before the performance of "Great Shu Hua" is also very detailed. The spoon made of willow root must be soaked in water for a few days, and then the surface will be dried with slow fire, so that the spoon will not be scalded by molten iron and the handle will not be too hot. The craftsman wears a sheepskin coat and a hat. This suit is anti-ironing. Despite being careful everywhere, after a performance, the craftsmen will still be burned by flying sparks. Therefore, the back of the craftsman's hand is always covered with old scars and new hot blisters-the craftsman left danger to himself and gave beauty to people. Dashuhuaxiu, an ancient flower, is the flower in the hearts of craftsmen.

Although the big Shuhuaxiu looks good, the people of the big Shuhuaxiu also demand a firm stance. On one occasion, a man in Dashuhuaxiu almost put a spoonful of molten iron upside down on his head because he was unstable, causing serious burns.

Da Shuhuaxiu is actually a job that requires a lot of physical strength. In order to keep the audience excited, three performers will take turns to appear. During the break, a lady leaned in curiously and wanted to go to Da Shu Hua Show by herself. I didn't expect a spoonful of molten iron to be so heavy that she couldn't lift it at all. I can only admire the extraordinary kung fu displayed by several artists with great composure.

It is said that in 20 13, only four people in the whole hot spring town knew about Da Shuhua Xiu. In addition to these three masters, there is also a young apprentice who is not very skilled. As an ancient custom, the Great Shuhuaxiu requires artists' arm strength and splashing skills, so not everyone can do it.
