Lathe tools are made of what material
9 ~ 93, can withstand high temperatures of 850 ~ 1000 ℃, has good wear resistance, allowing the use of cutting speed up to 100 ~ 300m/min, can be processed, including hardened steel, including a variety of materials, and therefore gained wide application. However, the low bending strength of hard gold, poor impact toughness, edge is not sharp, more difficult to process, not easy to make the shape of the more complex whole tool, so currently can not completely replace high-speed steel. Commonly used hard gold has tungsten and cobalt (yg class), tungsten, titanium and cobalt (yt class) and general-purpose hard gold (yw class) three categories.
(1) tungsten and cobalt (yg)
yg class hard gold mainly by tungsten carbide (wc) and cobalt (co), commonly used grades are yg3, yg6, yg8, etc. yg class hard gold bending strength and impact toughness is good, not easy to collapse edge, is very suitable for cutting chips in the form of crumbling brittle materials, such as cast iron. yg class hard gold edge sharpening is better, edge can be sharpened. Can be sharpened, so the effect of cutting non-ferrous metals cast alloy is also better. Because yg class carbide heat resistance and wear resistance is poor, so generally not used for ordinary steel cutting. But it has good toughness, thermal conductivity is larger, can be used to process stainless steel and high temperature table gold steel and other difficult to process materials.
(2)
Tungsten-titanium-cobalt class (yt class)
Yt class of hard Formica is mainly composed of tungsten carbide, titanium carbide and cobalt, commonly used grades such as yt5, ytl5, yt30. It adds titanium carbide inside, increases the hardness, heat resistance, adhesion resistance and oxidation resistance of hard taikin. However, due to the yt class carbide bending strength and impact toughness is poor, it is mainly used for cutting chips are generally banded ordinary carbon steel and alloy steel and other plastic materials.
(3)
Universal tungsten carbide (yw class)
Tungsten, titanium, tantalum (niobium) cobalt tungsten carbide (yw class) it is in the ordinary cemented carbide added a small amount of rare high melting point metal tantalum carbide (tac) or niobium carbide (nbc), can prevent wc grains grow up during sintering, play the role of refining the grains. This improves the toughness and heat resistance of the cemented carbide, giving it a better overall cutting performance. yw cemented carbide is mainly used in the processing of stainless steel, heat-resistant steel, high manganese steel, and is also suitable for the processing of ordinary carbon steel and cast iron, and is therefore known as general-purpose cemented carbide taikin, commonly used grades are ywl, yw2, etc..
