Method for manufacture manual copper drum

Hand-made bronze drums are made as follows:

Material preparation: paper cups, scissors and beads.

1. Take two disposable paper cups for standby.

2. Cut the paper cup into one third of the height of the paper cup with scissors.

3. Decorate paper cups with cut colored paper.

4. Thread the beads.

5. Then tie one end of the bead and thread the other end in the center of the bottom of the paper cup.

6. Paste two paper cups into a drum.

7. Insert the stick in the middle of the drum and fix it, and the drum will be finished.

Bronze drum:

It is an important historical relic of southern nationalities in ancient China, mainly distributed in Guangxi, Guangdong, Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan, Hubei and other provinces. In addition, it is also found in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia and Indonesia in Southeast Asia. There are more than 400 pieces of bronze drums 1400 in museums in various provinces and cities in China, and there are also many folk collections.

At present, most scholars believe that bronze drums come from copper kettles. Copper pot is a kind of cooker, commonly known as copper pot. When it is placed on its side, it becomes a primitive bronze drum that can be beaten. The bronze drum unearthed in Wanjiaba, Chuyou, Yunnan, has traces of smoke at the bottom, which just shows that it evolved from a copper kettle.

According to archaeological evidence, Wanjiaba bronze drum in Chuxiong, Yunnan Province is the largest bronze drum in the world, dating from 690-90 BC, quite early in the Spring and Autumn Period.
