What is the bandwidth of a conventional pdt?
6.25kHz.
The PDT utilizes TDMA Dual Time Slot technology, which preserves the 12.5kHz bandwidth and splits it into two alternating time slots, allowing a single 12.5kHz channel to support two simultaneous or independent calls. Each time slot operates as a separate communications channel with equal bandwidth (6.25kHz), and the original channel maintains the same configuration as the analog 12.5kHz signal. This means that the PDT is fully compatible with existing licensed PMR frequencies, eliminating the need to reconfigure or repurchase frequencies, while doubling the capacity of the 12.5kHz bandwidth.
