China Traditional Culture, Historical Culture and Silk Road
Zhang Qian's trip to the Western Regions in the Western Han Dynasty was a trade and cultural exchange channel from Central Asia to Europe. It starts from Chang 'an in the east and reaches Dunhuang in the west via Hexi Corridor. Dunhuang is divided into two passages: one is from Yumenguan Pass through Shanshan (now northeast of Ruoqiang, Xinjiang), along the northern foot of Kunlun Mountain to shache (now shache county, Xinjiang), and the other is called South Road; The second is the North Road, which runs from Yumenguan to the west along the southern foot of Tianshan Mountain and crosses Qingji to Dawan, Kangju and other countries. The Silk Road promoted the economic and cultural exchanges between the East and the West and the progress of the western regions, and also enriched the material and cultural life in the Central Plains.
