The Story of Humanities in Shanxi

My hometown is in Taiyuan, Shanxi, which is a place with beautiful scenery and a long history. Our hometown is rich in humanities and geography, whether it is food, places of interest, and several world heritage sites, such as: Pingyao Ancient City, Wutai Mountain and so on. I am proud of my hometown!

There are festivals in life, and there are folklore in the program; customs make festivals passed down from generation to generation, and festivals make life colorful. In the old days, Taiyuan area month after month of festivals, and the most grand, the most lively, the flavor of the strongest to count the New Year. Because of the large population of our family, the New Year's Eve was very lively. After the Lunar New Year Festival, we are busy preparing for the New Year, and the atmosphere gets stronger day by day. There is a proverb in our hometown: "Grind tofu on the 25th, rush to do work on the 26th, go to the market on the 27th, paste stickers on the 28th, go to drink wine on the 29th, and make dumplings on the 30th." Since we are from the north, we especially like to eat dumplings. On the afternoon of New Year's Eve, the whole family got busy with the New Year's Eve dinner. First, we make the noodles and then wake them up. This way the noodles will taste al dente. Mom and grandma are very skillful, rolling out the dough, wrapping the filling, pinching tightly, the action is consistent as one, wrapped out of the dumplings exquisite, full, like a handicraft, so people can not eat. I watched from the sidelines and my hands itched, and it was only after I begged and pleaded that my mom let me do it. I followed my mom's movements: I put the filling in the dough and pinched the edges tightly. Aha! The first dumpling I've ever made in my life! But it was a bit ugly and deflated. Not only did I not get discouraged, I tried to make them one by one, but they were still the same. I gave up and went to my own place!

My hometown also has a lot of food. The oil meat, hot pot, Dingxiang steamed meat, Wuchai pig black meat stew powder, sheep chowder, etc. Look at all make people "mouth watering". Look at all the people "mouth watering straight down three thousand feet"! Shanxi has a wide variety of local specialty products. Xinghuacun Fen wine is China's ancient history of wine, color like crystal jade, pure fragrance, taste beautiful,; Shanxi old vinegar sweet and sour, not only seasoning on the best, but also can eliminate food, beauty, sterilization; Qinzhou yellow millet shaped like a pearl, is the royal tributes; Pingyao Beef color, aroma and taste are all complete. Every time I have to eat a lot, before giving up.
