Introduction of Dikengyuan in Shanxi
Dikengyuan, also called Tianjingyuan and Dikengyuan, is a traditional kiln in ancient times, which is also known as "Tianjingyuan", "Diyinkeng" and "Diyao". Dikongyuan, locally known as "Tianjingyuan", "Diyinkeng" and "Diyao", is a remnant of the ancient way of people living in caves, and is known as the "Underground Courtyard" in northern China, which is said to have a history of about 4,000 years.
In 2007, Shanzhou District in Henan Province was named by the National Association of China as the township of China's underground kiln culture.
In 2011, the "Dikeng Yard Construction Technique" was selected as one of the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage.
In 2014, Miaoshang Village in Xizhangcun Township, Shanzhou District, was selected as one of the first batch of "Chinese Traditional Villages" by the Ministry of Housing and Construction because of the wide distribution of dugout courtyards.
