The national standard of Automatic Classification of Automobile Driving was promulgated and implemented in March 2022.

Recently, the General Administration of Market Supervision (Standards Committee) issued a number of important national standards to give full play to the supporting role of standards in economic and social development. In the high-tech field, the national standard "Classification of Automobile Driving Automation" (GB/T 40429-202 1) comprehensively considers dynamic driving tasks, minimum risk strategies and design operation intervals, and divides automobile driving automation into 0-5 levels, and prompts automobile users to undertake driving tasks at corresponding levels, so as to describe the classification more systematically and comprehensively, which is conducive to enhancing consumers' understanding of autonomous driving technology.

The national standard "Automatic Classification of Automobile Driving" was declared by TC 1 14 (National Automobile Standardization Technical Committee) and implemented by TC 1 14SC34 (Intelligent Networked Automobile Branch of National Automobile Standardization Technical Committee). The competent department is the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Among them, the 0-level driving automation (emergency assistance) system can't continuously perform the lateral or longitudinal motion control of the vehicle in the dynamic driving task, but it has the ability to continuously perform the detection and response of some targets and events in the dynamic driving task.

1 class driving automation (partial driving assistance) system continuously performs the lateral or longitudinal motion control of vehicles in dynamic driving tasks under its design conditions, and has the ability to detect and respond to some targets and events suitable for lateral or longitudinal motion control of vehicles.

Two-stage combined driving assistance The two-stage combined driving assistance system continuously performs vehicle lateral and longitudinal motion control in dynamic driving tasks under its design conditions, and has the ability to detect and respond to some targets and events suitable for vehicle lateral and longitudinal motion control.

The three-level driving automation (conditional automatic driving) system continuously performs all dynamic driving tasks under its designed operating conditions.

The 4-level driving automation (highly automatic driving) system continuously performs all dynamic driving tasks and automatically executes the minimum risk strategy under its designed operating conditions.

The 5-level driving automation (fully automatic driving) system continuously performs all dynamic driving tasks and automatically executes the minimum risk strategy under any drivable conditions.
