April Fools' Day means "April Fools' Day".

April Fools' Day is a traditional civil holiday in Western society, on April 1 every year, men and women of all ages can joke with each other, fool and deceive each other, in exchange for entertainment.

There is a theory that this custom originated in India's "Festival of Interpretation and Slang". The festival stipulates that on March 31 every year, men and women, young and old, can joke with each other, fooling and cheating each other in exchange for entertainment.

Another theory is that in Greek mythology, Iason was tricked by the king and led the Argo on an expedition. After they got the Fleece and triumphed, the king rebelled and refused to give up his throne.

So the hero of Argo became a symbol of the deceived fool, and the sign of the Golden Fleece (Aries) where April 1 became the Argo Fool's Day (Argo Fool's Day). Later, the Greek word for Argo, ργ, was misrepresented as April, and the day became April Fool's Day.

But it is widely rumored that April Fool's Day originated in France, where the newly reformed Gregorian calendar (now known as the solar calendar) was first adopted in 1564, with January 1 as the start of the year. However, some old-fashioned people opposed this reform, still according to the old calendar stubbornly on April 1, the day to send gifts to celebrate the New Year. Advocates of the reform ridiculed the practices of these old-fashioned people.

Clever and comical people gave them fake gifts on April 1 and invited them to fake receptions. And they called the gullible conservatives "April fools" or "hooked fish."

Since then, people have been fooling each other on April 1, and it has become a popular custom in France.

At the beginning of the 18th century, April Fools' Day customs were brought to England, and then to the United States by early English settlers. Today, April Fool's Day has developed into an international holiday.
