Shaanxi Dragon Boat Festival custom
The Dragon Boat Festival in Shaanxi inherits the ancient tradition and is full of ancient customs, which is quite interesting. People in Shaanxi usually celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival from April to May 5 in the lunar calendar. The main activities include sending Wudu Chinese-style chest covering, colorful plums, sachets, realgar pool, wormwood, ordering realgar wine, eating eggs, zongzi, oil cake, twist and whistle noodles. But there are no large-scale activities, such as dragon boat racing.
Why don't Shaanxi people engage in some large-scale activities during the Dragon Boat Festival, such as the dragon boat race in the south? It turned out that during the Dragon Boat Festival in May, the wheat in most parts of Shaanxi was ripe, and people were busy harvesting, so they went to the fields before dawn in the morning. At night, when the moon rises, they are too tired to do anything, only remember that it is time to go home, and other things are simply neglected. Of course, they have no time and energy to engage in any activities. It seems that this has a lot to do with farming.
