The method of art appreciation

There are four ways to appreciate art: description, analysis, explanation and evaluation.

1. Description is the first step. This step is mainly to let students speak the contents of the screen objectively on the basis of repeated watching, without adding subjective color, and say whatever they see.

2. Analysis is a deeper appreciation. It is necessary to further analyze the artistic language of the works, such as modeling, composition, color, lines, light and shade, texture, materials and so on. If it is Chinese painting, it is necessary to add inscriptions, seals and even mounting forms, which is the special feature of Chinese painting. These are mainly the analysis of formal language.

3. It should explain its historical background, significance and influence on society and painter's life.

4. Evaluation, which is also an activity that students like. After students, especially senior students, have a certain appreciation ability, many students have a clear understanding of the likes and dislikes of the works and their own opinions, so as to evaluate the works, which is the most important way to improve their appreciation ability.

The French sculptor Rodin said, "Beauty is everywhere. For our eyes, it is not the lack of beauty, but the lack of discovery. " Marx also said: "If you want to appreciate art, you must be an artistic person." After training, the ability to discover beauty will be improved, the aesthetic vision will be greatly expanded and the aesthetic ability will be developed.
