Comparison of advantages and disadvantages of various fabrics
Comparing the advantages and disadvantages of various fabrics, there are various fabrics on the market now, and each fabric has its own advantages and disadvantages. When choosing fabrics, you should choose the most suitable fabrics according to your own needs. Let's take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of various fabrics.
Comparison of advantages and disadvantages of various fabrics 1 What are the advantages and disadvantages of various fabric characteristics?
Cotton: excellent: good comfort, soft feel and strong sweat absorption.
Lack: poor durability, poor elasticity, fading and shrinking, easy to wrinkle.
Hemp: excellent: good comfort, good air permeability and affordable price.
Deficiencies: itchy skin, poor elasticity and fading.
Wool: excellent: good comfort, not easy to wrinkle and good elasticity.
Deficiencies: itchy skin, easy to mold, easy to eat by mistake.
Polyester: silk, good elasticity, high strength and smooth surface;
Excellent: Good comfort and flexibility.
Shortcomings: Strong wrinkling, easy to rot and shrink.
Rayon: metallic luster, rough and difficult to handle.
Silk: The luster is quiet, bright but not dazzling, soft and elastic, and it is not easy to wrinkle.
How to distinguish rayon, silk and polyester?
Rayon is bright, slightly rough and hard to the touch, and wet and cold to the touch. Hold it tightly with your hands, and when you loosen it, there are many wrinkles, and there are still wrinkles after flattening. When pulling out, use the tongue end to wet it, which is easy to break when straightening. The elasticity is different when wet and dry.
Silk is soft in luster, soft to the touch and delicate in texture. When rubbing together, it can make a special sound, commonly known as "silk sound" or "silk sound". If you hold it tightly with your hand, it will be released, and the wrinkles are few and not obvious. Silk products have the same dry and wet elasticity.
Polyester filament has strong reflection, high rigidity, quick rebound, stiffness, good wrinkle resistance, strong strength and not easy to break.
Comparison of advantages and disadvantages of various fabrics 2 pure cotton
Natural fabrics are comfortable to wear, breathable and warm, but easy to wrinkle, difficult to care, poor durability and easy to fade. Therefore, fabrics containing cotton 100% are rarely called pure cotton, and the cotton content is usually above 95%.
Advantages: strong hygroscopicity, good dyeing performance, soft hand feeling, comfortable wearing, no static electricity, good air permeability, hypoallergenic, simple appearance, not easy to be moth-eaten, durable and easy to clean.
Disadvantages: large shrinkage, poor elasticity, easy wrinkling, poor shape retention, easy mildew, slight fading and acid resistance.
Organic cotton
It is a kind of cotton that uses non-transgenic cotton seeds and is produced and certified according to organic agricultural standards. Its planting process does not use any chemical fertilizer or pesticide, which is environment-friendly and pollution-free.
Advantages: Soft to the touch, bright in color, the wear resistance and elasticity of organic cotton are much better than that of ordinary cotton, and it is not easy to be moldy and allergic, so it is better absorbed, breathable and warm.
Disadvantages: high cost, expensive price, general wrinkle resistance and easy to stick.
Modal
It is a kind of cellulose fiber, which belongs to the same cellulose fiber as rayon and is a pure man-made fiber.
Advantages: excellent moisture absorption and air permeability, not easy to fade, not easy to yellow, not easy to wrinkle or shrink, with natural drape and wrinkle resistance, with silky lightness and excellent texture.
Disadvantages: easy deformation, higher cost than ordinary cotton cloth, poor wear resistance and easy to break.
bafta
Cotton cloth is a general term for all kinds of cotton textiles.
Advantages: easy to keep warm, soft and close-fitting, moisture-absorbing and breathable.
Disadvantages: it is easy to shrink and wrinkle, and its appearance is not brittle and unsightly. Always iron it when you wear it.
Advantages: The cotton fabric treated with high-concentration caustic soda (wool) has smooth hand feel, bright color and silky luster, and is comfortable to wear.
Disadvantages: Slight fading.
Polyester/cotton fabric (polyester/cotton)
Refers to the floorboard of polyester-cotton blended fabric, which is made of blended yarn of 65%-67% polyester and 33%-35% cotton, commonly known as cotton polyester. Polyester-cotton blended products are generally called CVC yarns, and their cotton content is higher than that of polyester, while polyester-cotton yarns are different. We usually say CVC refers to products with cotton content above 65%, and those with C/T ratio below 55/45 are still generally called T/C yarns.
Fabric technology: fine denier or ultra-fine denier polyester fiber is interwoven with high count combed cotton (40, 60, 80, etc.). ).
Advantages: the fabric feels crisp, smooth, bright in color, elastic in body and bones, good in moisture absorption and permeability, smooth in surface and has certain rain-proof function.
Disadvantages: vacuuming, difficult to wash, unable to iron or soak in high temperature.
Lycra (spandex)
It is a fabric made of spandex fiber (short for spandex polyurethane fiber), which is also called "easel" in Cantonese (Cantonese pronunciation of Lycra), and is sometimes called "spandex cloth" directly in Chinese mainland.
Advantages: good elasticity, alkali resistance and heat resistance.
Disadvantages: exposure to the sun is easy to yellow, and humidity is easy to mold.
cowboy
It's a coarse-colored warp twill. Warp is dark, usually indigo, and weft is light, usually light gray or boiled white yarn. Also known as indigo denim.
Advantages: A piece of cloth can be washed out in infinite colors and ever-changing styles.
Disadvantages: poor color fastness, serious color fading, unable to control the color of clothes. Among them, thin cloth: soft, comfortable, cool, light but easy to wrinkle, not wear-resistant. Thick cloth: wear-resistant, durable, washable, not easy to wrinkle but not easy to wash.
Comparison of advantages and disadvantages of various fabrics 3 pure cotton
All made of cotton, mainly used to make fashion, casual wear, underwear and shirts.
Advantages: easy to keep warm, soft and close-fitting, strong hygroscopicity, good air permeability, heat and alkali resistance, clean and hygienic.
Disadvantages: easy to shrink, wrinkle and pilling, and the appearance is not stiff and unsightly. It must be ironed frequently.
Polyester cotton
Compared with pure cotton, it is blended, that is, polyester and pure cotton blended.
Advantages: soft and not easy to wrinkle.
Disadvantages: Poor hygroscopicity, and easier pilling compared with "worsted cotton".
Ice cotton
Excellent summer fabrics. It adds a layer of coating on cotton cloth, and the color is mainly monochromatic, including white, military green, light pink, light brown and so on. Suitable for ladies to make dresses, cropped trousers, shirts, etc.
Advantages: smooth and cool feel, light and waterproof fabric, cool and comfortable, soft and breathable, non-shrinking, naturally wrinkled surface and unique wearing style.
Disadvantages: Ice cotton is as afraid of insects as pure cotton, and it is easy to get moldy in humid environment, which will seriously affect the beauty of fabrics, so we should pay attention to the daily care and maintenance of ice cotton fabrics.
Cotton combing
Pure cotton is easier to weave and handle.
Advantages: the fabric can prevent pilling to the maximum extent.
Disadvantages: Dark combed cotton may fade after washing. Another disadvantage is that its price will be much higher than that of pure cotton.
Washed Cotton
Using cotton cloth as raw material, the surface of high-quality washed cotton cloth has a uniform layer of plush, which has a unique style.
Advantages: soft to the touch, soft in luster and tone, non-ironing, not easy to deform and fade after washing, and slight wrinkles add a little old material.
Disadvantages: products made of washed cotton are easy to be scattered and deformed after a long time.
Lakram language
Lycra was added to the cotton cloth. Lycra is an artificial elastic fiber exclusively invented and produced by DuPont. Lycra can stretch 4 to 7 times freely, and can quickly return to its original length after external force is released. It cannot be used alone, but it can be interwoven with any other man-made or natural fiber. Its extraordinary stretching and recovery performance greatly increases the color of all fabrics.
Advantages: comfortable fit, free movement, unique and super wrinkle recovery ability, durable clothes without deformation.
Disadvantages: harmful to human body. Due to the addition of chemical fiber materials, the air permeability is average.
Mercerized cotton cloth
Selected high-grade cotton raw materials and sophisticated technology are the best cotton seeds.
Advantages: soft and comfortable, moisture absorption and air permeability, bright luster, good dyeability, and the fabric is not easy to break.
Disadvantages: it is often stretched and deformed.
Mesh cotton
Pure cotton, specially woven.
Advantages: it absorbs sweat and is not easy to deform.
Disadvantages: accompanied by a certain degree of pilling.
