What are the online banking services?

Legal subjectivity:

Online banking is a kind of financial service provided by banks through the internet by means of science and technology. For interbank customers, it mainly includes online payment and settlement agency business and online group wealth management business. At present, the online banking business of western commercial banks is generally divided into three categories. The first category is information service, which mainly publicizes the products and services that banks can provide to customers, including deposit and loan interest rates, foreign exchange quotation inquiry, investment and financial consulting, etc. This is the most basic service provided by banks through the Internet, which is generally provided by independent servers of banks. There is no link path between the server of this kind of business and the internal network of the bank, so the risk is low. The second category is customer communication services, including e-mail, account inquiry, loan application and regular updating of files (such as address and name). This service keeps a certain connection between the internal network system of the bank and the customers, and the bank must take corresponding control measures to monitor and prevent hackers from invading the internal network system of the bank. The third category is transaction services, including personal business and corporate business. This is the main body of online banking. Personal business includes transfer, remittance, payment, mortgage, securities trading and foreign exchange trading. Company business includes settlement business, credit business, international business and investment banking business. The server of the bank transaction service system is directly connected with the bank's internal network, which is risky from the perspective of business itself and network system security. At present, there is no special online banking in China, and the online banking business of banks is in its infancy, but it is developing rapidly. From June 65438 to June 0996, Bank of China took the lead in establishing a website in China to provide online banking services to the society. In April, 1997, China Merchants Bank opened online banking. From 65438 to 0999, China Construction Bank and China Industrial and Commercial Bank began to provide online banking services to customers. Some foreign banks in China, such as Standard Chartered Bank, HSBC and Citibank, have also started online banking. At present, Chinese-funded banks in China mainly provide online banking services such as transfer, payment and fund transfer, but have not carried out online banking services such as taking deposits and issuing loans, which are risky and directly form bank assets or liabilities.
