The Huashan Festival on the third day officially begins, and Miao compatriots from all directions will gather in Huashan to celebrate the New Year.
This festival, also known as "stepping on the flower mountain", "jumping on the flower field", "stepping on the field" and "stepping on the mountain", is popular in Miao areas in northwest Guizhou, south Sichuan and southeast Yunnan, as well as Wenshan and Honghe in Yunnan.

Flower picking festival
Flower-picking Festival, also called Flower-picking Slope, is an annual festival of Miao people in Pu 'an and Qinglong areas. Every year from the first day of the first month to the fifteenth day of the first month, local Miao youths come from all directions with musical instruments such as lusheng and flute, gather at Caihuapo at the junction of Pu 'an and Panxian, and "travel" on hillsides, jungles and caves (Miao language, meaning love). Before the festival came, the owner of the Miao family nearby erected a "flower tree" with green branches and leaves on the slope, which was full of flowers such as Baishan tea, azaleas, peach blossoms and plum blossoms. Miao men and women dance around trees in their childbearing years, which is called "jumping over the flower fields". When dancing, men and women circle, a trap circle, dancing, singing and dancing. The girls' pleated skirts fluttered, silver bracelets and silver collars jingled, their dances were simple and beautiful, and they were all as proud as peacocks. The grand occasion often reaches six or seven thousand people, and it is very lively.
Lusheng Festival. It is popular in Zhou Xi area at the junction of Kaili, Majiang and Danzhai counties in Guizhou. Festivals vary from place to place, usually in the first month, February or March of the lunar calendar; Individual regional elections will be held in July. Mainly to worship ancestors and celebrate the harvest. Generally speaking, a ceremony will be held before the festival. The venerable old man in the village presided over ancestor worship. At the same time, all families worship their ancestors themselves. Then all the girls in the villages dressed up and put on silver flowers and ornaments. Both young men and Lusheng players brought their own Lusheng, and they came to Lusheng venue from all directions. Young men and women in each village form a circle and blowing sheng dances for four or five days. The atmosphere is very warm, and it is a fusion song.
