What is the muscle relaxation of surgical anesthesia for?
Start answering
All operations require muscle relaxation at the surgical site.
Commonly used anesthetics have a certain degree of muscle relaxation.
But our traditional muscle relaxant refers to N2 cholinergic receptor blocker, also known as skeletal muscle relaxant, which acts on N2 receptor on the postsynaptic membrane (motor endplate) of neuromuscular junction, blocking the normal transmission of nerve impulses and leading to skeletal muscle relaxation. At the same time, it can relax our breathing muscles.
I wonder if you can understand this explanation?
Examples are as follows:
1. cesarean section, the commonly used anesthesia method is combined spinal-epidural anesthesia, and the commonly used drugs are 0.75% bupivacaine and 10% glucose solution, which takes effect quickly. Patients can feel numbness and fever in both lower limbs in a short time, and then they can't move quickly, which is the performance of muscle relaxation. When the anesthesiologist adjusts the anesthesia plane to T6, the patient can perform pain block at T6. I usually give 0.75 bupivacaine 10 mg and put an epidural catheter, which usually lasts about 2 hours.
2. General anesthesia
There are quite a lot of LC operations in our hospital, with an average of about 20 per day. The full name of LC is laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and the anesthesia mode is general anesthesia. I usually use intravenous inhalation combined with general anesthesia. This kind of operation requires the patient to relax the abdominal muscles, because artificial pneumoperitoneum is needed, and artificial pneumoperitoneum will cause the diaphragm of the patient to move up, resulting in a decrease in the chest volume. In order to alleviate these discomforts, when patients need to breathe smoothly, general anesthesia is the first choice.
3. Arthroscopic surgery
Anesthesia method is the same as cesarean section, and it also has muscle relaxation effect, because arthroscopy sometimes needs to put the patient's affected lower limb in a special position for observation. If the anesthetic effect is not good, the patient may feel pain or resistance when placed.
