What's the difference between glazing and falling glaze of wood-fired teapot?
In ancient porcelain, wood was generally used for firing. Due to the continuous addition of wood during the firing process, the temperature rises and falls, and the bubbles on the surface of the pot blank are different in size, which has a certain sense of layering. However, in modern technology, the bubble size is uniform and dense. These characteristics are most obvious in Ming and Qing porcelains.
On ancient porcelain, due to the thin glaze and the bursting of bubbles, countless sesame spots with different sizes and certain layering were formed. Jianshui purple pottery firewood is gorgeous at high magnification, with different sizes and obvious skeletons. Conventional purple pottery has a single hole and wood-fired purple pottery has a double hole, which has better permeability and adsorption, and its practicability is similar to that of pure purple sand.
2. The surface color difference of the pot blank.
Purple pottery produces different colors under different oxygen content because of its high iron content. Conventional Jianshui purple pottery needs polishing after firing, and the colors are red, black, bronze, design and color. The color of one kiln is uniform and stable.
Pottery fired by Zitao Chai Kiln has a great difference in temperature. When firewood is ashed and attached to the ceramic blank at high temperature, it will form various uncontrollable color texture changes such as fire mark, ash falling, glaze gathering, texture and metallic feeling. At high temperature, the ceramic blank will form various colors according to the oxygen content, and each color is unique, even multiple colors overlap. When firewood is ashed, the ashed glaze will also form flowing glaze of different colors.
Its color is moist, its layering is rich, and its texture is rough and powerful, which is different from ordinary gorgeous and bright glaze. Some glazes are beautiful, so it is difficult to predict the result of kiln firing without repetition.
3, the difference of firing process
Conventional purple pottery is fired in electric and gas kilns, and the firing time is generally 10- 12 hours. The temperature is controlled by the electric heating plate, which is convenient and fast, without manual waiting, and the yield is high. The combustion stability of Jianshui Zitao firewood is relatively weak, and there are many uncertain factors. The firing temperature of purple mud is about 1 160, which usually takes 4-5 days and consumes about 5-6 tons of firewood (depending on the size of the kiln). During the period, one person is on duty every 8 hours, which has low output, complicated steps, unknown effect and uncertain stability, and further tests pottery.
4. Aesthetic differences
There is no difference between Jianshui purple pottery and conventional purple pottery, just looking at personal aesthetic hobbies and needs. Conventional Jianshui purple pottery pays attention to decoration, calligraphy and painting coordination, and famous decoration; Jianshui Zitao firewood pursues Gu Zhuo, and its vigorous natural beauty is just like "phoenix nirvana after fire", which is amazing.
