Composition Background Editor

"Tick Tock" was created by artist Gao Di based on a Lijiang folk tune. Kan Kan, who was in residence in Lijiang at the time, sang the song, and she was alone in the recording studio when she sang the song.

The original name of the song was "Lonely Night and Who to Talk to", which is Kan Kan's very early song, but because it was not cheesy enough, not popular enough, although those who have heard it loved it, but because it was too niche, so it never circulated, and then it was chosen as an interlude of "Beijing Love Story" before it was renamed "Tick Tock", a big cheesy name.

2013 Kan Kan sings "Tick tock"

The hour hand it keeps turning

Tick tock tick tock tick tock

The light rain it laps at the splash

Tick tock tick tock tick tock tick tock

Isn't it still going to be holding on to him

Tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock

A few tears have fallen

Tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock

Who will talk to me on a lonely night

Tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock

Who will wipe away the tears of sadness

Tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock

Sorting out my feelings and setting off again

Tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock-tock

Will someone still take care of me?

Someone will still hold you in their arms
