Why did officials in ancient China return to their roots?
In ancient China, the reason why officials who served outside their hometowns had to return to their roots was because this was due to the inherent national cultural heritage awareness of the Loess Plateau people.
That is the root of human nature.
The so-called "leaves falling back to their roots" is the original innate attribute of human species that originated on the Loess Plateau.
Roots reveal the land from which people originate and have the characteristics of the regional life material environment, that is, "a place of water and soil supports a person."
Therefore, no matter in ancient China or modern times, for the people of the Loess Plateau, whether they are officials serving abroad or ordinary people living abroad, they all have the soul consciousness of "the leaf falls and returns to its roots".
