Yunnan Lincang what are the ethnic groups

In addition to the Han Chinese, there are 23 other ethnic minorities in Lincang. There are 11 ethnic minorities living in Lincang, namely the Yi, Wa, Dai, Lahu, Brown, Lisu, Hui, Miao, De'ang, Bai and Jingpo.

1. The Yi nationality

The Yi nationality is mainly distributed between the plateau and the coastal hills in the four provinces (autonomous regions) of Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou and Gui, and is mainly gathered in Chuxiong, Honghe, Liangshan, Bijie, Liupanshui and Anshun, etc. The Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture is the largest Yi settlement area in the country.

2. Wa People

The Wa mainly live in Cangyuan, Ximeng, Menglian, Gengma, Lancang, Shuangjiang, Zhenkang, Yongde and other counties in the southwestern part of China's Yunnan Province and in the Wa and Shan states of Myanmar, while a part of the Wa in China live in the city of Baoshan, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Kunming City, and the Dehong Dai Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, and other places.

3. The Dai People

The Dai people in China are known as Dai Dance, Dai Na, Dai Ya, Dai Lien and Dai Duan according to their distribution areas. Xishuangbanna and other places call themselves "Dancing", Dehong and other places call themselves "Dai Na", the upper reaches of the Red River, Xinping, Yuanjiang and other places of the Dai called themselves "Dai Ya", Ruili, Longchuan, Gengma border line of the Ruili, Longchuan, Gengma border line of the Dai called themselves "Dai bandage", Lancang Mangjing, Mangna for the Dai bandage branch. 4, Lahu

The Lahu are distributed in China, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and other countries. The Lahu in China are distributed in 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government, and they are mainly distributed in the west bank of the Lancang River, starting from Lincang and Gengma in the north, and ending in Lancang and Menglian counties in the south.

5, Brown

Brown people live in the mountains, the climate is mild, abundant rainfall, very conducive to plant growth, so, "eat the mountains" is a major feature of the survival of mountainous peoples. 6, Lisu

Lisu originated from the ancient Qiang ethnic group, and has a relationship with the Yi ethnic group, mainly distributed in the Nujiang River, Nmekai River (tributary of the Ayeyarwaddy River) basin area, that is, China's Yunnan Province, Tibet and Myanmar Kachin border area, the rest of the scattered in other parts of China's Yunnan Province, India's northeastern region, Thailand and the border with Myanmar area.

7. Hui

The Hui, short for the Hui ethnic group, is one of China's more populous ethnic minorities, with a total population of 10,586,087 (in 2010, excluding Taiwan Province of China). The contemporary Hui people speak the Chinese language in common use, and different dialects are spoken in different regions. On the whole, the distribution of the Hui is characterized by a pattern of "large dispersion and small settlements".

8. Miao People

The Miao are an ancient ethnic group scattered all over the world, mainly in China's Guizhou, Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Qiong provinces, as well as Southeast Asia's Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and other countries and regions. The Miao have their own language, the Miao language belongs to the Miao branch of the Miao-Yao language family of the Sino-Tibetan language family, and is divided into three major dialects: western Hunan, eastern Guizhou and Sichuan-Guizhou-Yunnan.

9. De'ang

The De'ang mainly live in the border area between the People's Republic of China and the Union of Myanmar*** and the State, and they are a typical ethnic group with a wide range of distribution. The Chinese side of the ethnic group is mainly located in nine counties and cities in three prefectures, including Dehong, Baoshan, and Lincang in Yunnan Province, and the Burmese side of the ethnic group is located in the Shan State and the Kachin State.

10, Bai

Bai is China's 15th largest ethnic minority, mainly distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan and other provinces, including Yunnan Province, the largest population of Bai, mainly in Yunnan Province, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture. They are also found in Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality. The Bai are unique in their art, and their architecture, carving and painting arts are famous in the ancient and modern world.

11, Jingpo

Jingpo origin and the Tibetan Plateau on the ancient Qiang people related to the "Jingpo", "Zaiwa", "Lechi", "There are five clans: Jingpo, Zaiwa, Lechi, Lang'e and Bora, which mainly live in the mountainous areas of the Dehong Dai Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province, and a few in the Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, which borders the Kachin State of Myanmar. Most of the Kachin clans in Myanmar also have deep roots with the Jingpo and Lisu in China.
