Seismic strengthening scheme of buildings

Earthquake resistance of buildings is an important engineering technology. In order to ensure the safety and stability of buildings, we need to take a series of reinforcement measures. This paper will introduce the seismic strengthening scheme of buildings to help you better understand how to ensure the safety of buildings.

Window reinforcement

When the width of the wall between windows is too narrow or the seismic capacity is insufficient, we suggest adding reinforced concrete window frames, or strengthening them with reinforced mortar surface and slab walls to ensure safety and stability.

Wall reinforcement

If the seismic capacity of the wall supporting the girder is insufficient, masonry columns, composite columns or reinforced concrete columns can be added, and at the same time, steel mesh mortar surface layer and plate wall can be used for reinforcement. The design and construction of reinforcement of composite columns shall comply with the provisions of Articles 9.3.3 and 9.3.4 of this specification.

Reinforcement of cantilever members

If the wall of the cantilever member does not meet the appraisal requirements, we suggest adding reinforced concrete columns or masonry composite columns at the end of the cantilever member for reinforcement, and re-examine the cantilever member.

Partition reinforcement

When the partition wall is missing or not firmly tied, we suggest to use wrapping, buried steel sheath, anchor bar or steel tie rod for reinforcement. When the partition wall is too long and too high, it can be reinforced with steel mesh mortar surface to improve its stability.

Roof reinforcement

If the stairwell, elevator room and water tank room out of the roof do not meet the appraisal requirements, we suggest that the surface layer or additional columns be used for reinforcement to ensure that the upper part is firmly connected with the roof components and the lower part is connected with the main structure.

High-rise building reinforcement

We suggest that you remove or reduce the height of chimneys, Rachel-free parapets, gables, etc. Exceeding the specified height, or reinforced with section steel and steel tie rods.

Anchorage and reinforcement of cantilever members

When the anchorage length of the cantilever member does not meet the requirements, the problem can be solved by increasing the pull rod or taking measures to reduce the cantilever length.
