Education Narrative My Language Life

After the last comprehensive study "Filial Piety and Respect for the Elderly, Starting from Me" was planned and hosted by the students, I let go of the students once again and let them organize this comprehensive language study "My Language Life" on their own.

A week in advance, the language class representative will plan the activities and arrange them at the same time. Then, the exact time of the activity was decided by the class representatives. The language reps of both classes, during the second week, decided to do it on a Friday.

The first activity was conducted in class 10, the first session was "Look at the sign". The students were not very well prepared, but the class reps were very well prepared. The first part of the session, "Looking at the Signboard", was not very well prepared by the students, but the representative of the class was very well prepared. It not only allowed everyone to restore the signboard, but also guided the students to exchange views on the pros and cons of the phenomenon of harmonization. This design is very practical and conducive to the development of students' thinking skills.

The second link is the slogan exchange, I can see that this link, everyone's accumulation is still very full. After the exchange of students, the class representative again showed their accumulated slogans. And after discussing the "benefits of using rhetorical devices in slogans" at the same table, the students were able to practice with the exercises in the exercise book. It's a good idea to satisfy everyone's interest in learning and to put learning into practice at all times. Kudos to both presenters!

The third session is to find the most beautiful couplets. First of all, the class representative shared the story of Zheng Banqiao and couplets, and stimulated the students' interest in learning and guessing the contents of the couplets. Then, add general knowledge about couplets. Finally, the students share the couplets they have accumulated according to different categories. In this session, it can be seen that the two class representatives are struggling a bit. Whether it was the basic knowledge of couplets or the appreciation of couplets, they were very restrained. They have not accumulated enough traditional culture, so the practical application will be difficult.

In the second session, Class 9 conducted a comprehensive study. The first session is also "looking at the signboard". The students shared their own accumulation, and after the display, there was no comment or exchange. It seems that the representative of the class is not flexible enough to consider the problem, or a little tender.

The second session is "I'll write the advertisement", students first exchange their own collection of advertisement, the representative of the class to show their collection, and then we choose to accumulate the favorite. There is still no communication, no analysis, and certainly no practice.

These are the first time I've ever seen the world's most popular advertisements, and I've never seen any of them.

The third session was the same as Class 10, the search for the most beautiful couplets. First, students shared their knowledge about couplets, and then they took notes on their own. Immediately after that, a classmate showed the history of couplets and shared the earliest pair of couplets. The class representative returned to the general knowledge of couplets again after the classmate's presentation.

Finally, with a nod from me to the language reps, they gave the class a creative task: to collaborate on a couplet or advertisement. There was a lot of discussion, but when it came to presenting it, there was a bit of a lull. It is clear that they are only good at "bringing" but not "producing".

In the two classes, the class representatives were more serious about organizing the event, and the students were more prepared in advance. However, it is clear that the children's understanding of the language of life, the language of life, is very limited. They were able to extract knowledge from the Internet and books, but could not use their brains to think about the deeper meaning. The activities are too superficial. Learning without thinking is confusing, thinking without learning is lazy. Only the form of learning, it is impossible to bloom the most beautiful flowers. Learning, a long way to go!

After the class, and a few class representatives briefly exchanged, the children on their own in the activity planning and hosting have their own gains. I summarized the activities, told them that in the future, our comprehensive learning in this way will continue, you can independently compete in the planning and hosting, the students responded enthusiastically. I look forward to my students, in the learning process, can go farther.
