The Award-winning Course of Peking University National Orchestra

The history of Peking University Folk Orchestra can be traced back to 19 19. When Cai Yuanpei became the president of Peking University on 19 16, he attached great importance to music education and established the Peking University Music Troupe, which was reorganized into the Music Research Association on 19 19, and served as the president himself. The "Guqin", "Pipa" and "Kunqu" groups in this community can be regarded as the source of Peking University Folk Orchestra. 19 19 Wang Lu, a famous musician in China, was hired as the tutor of Peking University Music Research Association to teach pipa and guqin. The tutor of Kunqu Opera Troupe is Wu Mei, a famous scholar, drama theorist and writer.

1922 In August, upon Xiao's proposal, Peking University Conservatory of Music was reorganized into Peking University Conservatory of Music, with Cai Yuanpei as its dean. The brochure of the college puts forward that "the aim is to cultivate talents in music research, while learning western music, to preserve and carry forward China's ancient music." It was at this time that Liu Tianhua, the master, was invited as a pipa tutor and brought the national musical instrument Erhu into the halls of colleges and universities for the first time.

After Feng warlord Zhang Yu 1927 took over the political power in Beijing, Liu Zhe, the chief education officer, ordered the closure of the music departments of all ethnic universities in Beijing on the grounds of "corrupting social atmosphere" and "wasting national money". Peking University Music Studio was also dissolved. Since then, folk music associations have only existed in the form of non-governmental organizations in Peking University, and their development status is unknown, but the folk music tradition has been continued among students and teachers.

From 65438 to 0994, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission proposed the establishment of "Peking University Sheng Min Orchestra" and hung this brand in the Art Department of Peking University. Peking University then integrated resources and reorganized the folk orchestra. The early instructors of the orchestra were Wang, Cao Wengong and so on. However, due to the interference of some human factors, before September 1999, Peking University Folk Music Troupe did not have a long-term teacher guidance task.

1999 In September, with the support of Associate Professor Li Xiaohui, artistic director of the school art troupe, Mr. Hans cutie, retired conductor and composer of Oriental Song and Dance Troupe, became the conductor of Peking University Folk Orchestra. Under his guidance, the folk music group that has been training for three months held a special concert in the auditorium of the school office building, which was well received. In the summer of 2000, he and the band of California State University held a joint concert in Beijing Century Theatre, which was a success. Unfortunately, due to some human factors, Mr. Zhang Hanshu ceased to be the conductor of the orchestra on 200 1.

Associate Professor Wang Fujian from the Department of Folk Music of the Central Conservatory of Music immediately took over as conductor, and positioned the orchestra as an orchestra with a strong spirit of exploration, which can show the spiritual outlook of contemporary college students on the basis of tradition. June, 5438+October, 2002/KLOC-0, the New Year Concert was held in the Concert Hall of the National Library. Performances include traditional songs such as "Moonlit Night on a Spring River" and "Two Springs Reflecting the Moon", as well as modern songs such as Tan Dun's "Northwest Suite".

In March, 2004, a special concert with the theme of "Tian Yun" classical music, originally scheduled for the summer of 2003, was held in the auditorium of Peking University office building. The play is still both traditional and modern.

In March, 2005, the orchestra participated in the first Beijing College Students' Art Exhibition Musical Instrument Competition with the work "Houtu" by Professor Tang Jianping of the Central Conservatory of Music, and won the first prize (third place in the score). The small band (plucked band of Peking University Folk Orchestra) participated in the first musical instrument competition of Beijing University Students Art Exhibition with the ancient Drunk and Festival of Tajikistan composed by Wang Huiran and arranged by Zhu Kesheng, and also won the first prize (the second overall score). Peking University People's Orchestra is the only school in the team that won the first prize of both big and small bands.

In July 2005, the orchestra represented Beijing in the National College Students Art Exhibition, and won the first prize in the instrumental music group, ranking first among all national orchestras.
