The Inheritance Significance of Zhuang's Xu Ge
There are more than 640 song fairs in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region alone. Xu Ge is the natural carrier of Zhuang folk songs, and has become the representative form of traditional cultural and recreational activities of Zhuang, creating a unique Zhuang Xu Ge culture, which plays an important role in the generation, inheritance and development of various traditional Zhuang folk songs. At the same time, it is a treasure house of Zhuang folk literature, which is of great value for understanding and studying Zhuang ancient social life. Xu Ge also provides a place for the general public, especially teenagers, to learn folk songs and show their talents, and meets their psychological needs of advocating folk songs and poetic thinking.
With the acceleration of modernization, traditional folk culture has been seriously impacted, and the activities of singing concerts have gradually decreased. Many songs will die because old singers quit without young and middle-aged singers to participate and take over. Measures should be taken quickly to save and protect this ancient national custom.
The state attaches great importance to the protection of intangible cultural heritage. On May 20th, 2006, this folk custom was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
