Bangkok, Oct. 27 -- Thailand's department in charge of the funeral ceremony of the late King Bhumibol announced on Oct. 27 that the golden cremation pavilion and related exhibitions at Bangkok's Wangjatian Square will be open for public visits from Nov. 2 to Nov. 30, allowing both national people and foreign tourists to visit the pavilion after all the funeral ceremonies of the late King are over this month.

The cremation pavilion will be open daily from 0700 hours to 2200 hours, allowing people to enter in batches of about 5,000 people each, with a time limit of one hour to visit, according to Thai reports. At the same time, there are also exhibitions on the life of the king and the construction history of the cremation pavilion in the building near the pavilion. During the period, Thai authorities will also hold traditional Thai cultural performances in front of the cremation pavilion from 18:00 to 22:00 every day, the same as during the funeral.

The cremation pavilion is considered to be "a masterpiece of Thai architectural art," and the department in charge of the funeral ceremony expects the number of visitors to reach 100,000 per day. Bhumibol died on Oct. 13 last year at the age of 89 at Bangkok's Sirirat Hospital. His body was then transported to the Grand Palace of Thailand for the public to pay their respects, and the country entered a year-long period of national mourning.
