In 1980s, the Provincial Civil Affairs Department approved the establishment of Ren Chao Overseas Friendship Association and Hakka Overseas Friendship Association in Guangdong. As the largest of the three major ethnic groups in Guangdong, Guangfu ethnic group, with a population of nearly 45%, has not yet established a unified ethnic organization. Therefore, the call for the establishment of "Guangdong Guangfu Overseas Friendship Association" is getting higher and higher. In order to unite and develop forces more widely, contact all Guangfu people and all descendants of Zhuji Lane who moved south. At the same time, let nearly 50 million Guangfu people at home and abroad who walked out of Zhuji Lane truly understand the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation and remember their "roots in Zhuji" forever from generation to generation. Since 1996, Guangdong Yanhuang Culture Research Association, Guangdong Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Guangdong Provincial Government Counselor's Office, Guangdong Pearl River Culture Research Association and other units and academic research institutions have held a seminar on Zhujixiang and Guangfu Culture, a preparatory meeting for Guangfu Overseas Friendship Association, and a symposium on the establishment of Guangfu Overseas Friendship Association with Guangzhou. It is proposed to establish Guangdong Guangfu (Zhuji) Overseas Friendship Association based on Guangdong Nanxiong Zhuji Folk Friendship Association. Through active efforts in the past 20 years, on April 9, 20 12, the Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese officially approved the renaming of the Association of Descendants of Zhuji Township in Nanxiong City, Guangdong Province as the Overseas Association of Descendants of Zhuji Township in Guangfu, Guangdong Province.
