Understanding and awareness of emotions

Emotions: refers to people's attitudes and experiences of objective things in the process of mental activity. Emotion, a generic term for a range of subjective cognitive experiences, is a psychological and physiological state resulting from the synthesis of a variety of feelings, thoughts and behaviors. It is generally recognized that emotion is a psychological activity mediated by individual wants and needs.

There are many ways to categorize the types of emotions. According to traditional Chinese culture, emotions are categorized into seven emotions and six desires, of which the seven emotions are joy, anger, worry, thought, sadness, fear and surprise. According to developmental categorization, emotions are divided into basic emotions and social emotions. American psychologist Plutchik put forward the three-dimensional theory of emotions, that is, emotions are characterized by bipolarity, similarity and strength.

In addition, there is also a statement that there are 27 types of human emotions, including admiration, worship, appreciation, anxiety, awe, embarrassment, boredom, calmness, confusion, longing, aversion, empathetic pain, fascination, jealousy, excitement, fear, hatred, amusement, joy, nostalgia, romance, sadness, satisfaction, sexuality, sympathy, and fulfillment. According to the basic categorization of emotions, emotions are generally divided into four basic forms: "happiness", "anger", "sadness" and "fear".
