What are the four common forms of organization

There are four common organizational forms: linear, functional, line-functional and matrix.

The linear structure is the simplest and most basic form of organization, and is also the oldest form of organizational structure. It is characterized by vertical leadership at all levels of the enterprise from top to bottom, in a pyramid structure. Functional structure originated at the beginning of this century when Fayol was the general manager of the coal company he operated in the form of organizational structure, so it is also known as the Fayol model, is based on the work methods and skills as the basis for the division of departments.

The linear-functional structure is one of the most common forms of structure in modern enterprises, and it is more suitable for large and medium-sized business organizations. The term matrix structure sounds somewhat academic, but it is actually a higher level organizational structure model.

Characteristics of Organizations

In a narrow sense, the organization refers to the people in order to achieve a certain goal, mutual collaboration combined into a collective or group, such as party organizations, trade union organizations, enterprises, military organizations and so on. The narrow sense of the organization specifically refers to the crowd, used in social management.

In modern social life, the organization is people in accordance with certain purposes, tasks and forms of social groups, organizations are not only the cells of society, the basic unit of society, and can be said to be the basis of society.
