What is a talk show?
The origin of talk shows can be traced back to18th century English coffee bar parties, where people discussed various social issues. However, the real development of talk shows is in America. In the 20th century, with the appearance of radio and people's enthusiasm for public meetings, more and more people put their interest into discussions through the new media of radio, which also catalyzed the birth of talk shows.

The development of talk show
By the end of 1950s and the middle and late 1960s, the audience of talk shows had further expanded. After nine generations of host changes, this program is still a popular signature program of NBC and the longest-lasting entertainment program in the history of American TV series.
The Late Show in Ireland was launched on 1962, which is the second longest-running TV talk show and the longest-running TV talk show in Europe. The donnelly Show, an American TV program, was launched in the 1970s, which further promoted the development of talk shows. Since then, talk shows have emerged continuously.
