History of power system development

Brief introduction of power system development;

In the early days of electric energy application, power is usually supplied to lighthouses, ships, workshops, etc. only through small-capacity generators. This can be regarded as a simple household power supply system. It was not until the invention of the incandescent lamp that the central power supply system appeared, such as the Pearl Street Power Station built by Thomas Alva Edison in new york in 1882.

It is equipped with 6 generators (with a total capacity of about 670kW) and uses 1 10V power supply 1300 electric lamp. /kloc-in the 1990s, a three-phase AC power supply system was successfully developed, which quickly replaced DC power transmission and became a milestone in the great development of power system.

After the 20th century, people generally realized that expanding the scale of power system can bring obvious social and economic benefits in energy development, industrial layout, load regulation, system security and economic operation. Therefore, the scale of power system is growing rapidly.

The largest power system in the world is the unified power system of the former Soviet Union. It spans 7,000 kilometers from east to west and 3,000 kilometers from north to south, covering about 6,543,800 square kilometers of land.

Since 1950s, the power system in People's Republic of China (PRC) has developed rapidly. By the end of 199 1, the installed capacity of the power system will be1460,000 kilowatts and the annual power generation will be 675 billion kwh, ranking fourth in the world.

The transmission lines are mainly composed of 220kV, 330kV and 500kV, forming four regional power systems with installed capacity exceeding150,000 kW and nine provincial power systems with installed capacity exceeding10,000,000 kW. Inter-regional networking has also been started. In addition, in 1989, an electric power system was established in Taiwan Province province with an installed capacity of16.59 million kilowatts.
